Court Reporting Services During COVID-19 Outbreak

What is Independent Reporters Doing?

Here is How Independent Reporters is Providing Services During This Outbreak

As COVID-19 begins to have an impact here in Canada, we wanted to provide some updates on how we are operating our court reporting services.

Some clients have raised some questions about gathering to hold discoveries and how that may affect services. We want to let you know measures Independent Reporters has in place to accommodate services and ensure your questionings can proceed.

Remote Services

During this time Independent Reporters will waive the normal fees associated with implementing our remote services – IR Connect – to allow parties to conduct discoveries from the safety of your home or trusted office location. IR has extensive experience in working with legal clients to ensure secure and encrypted services that can connect on pretty much any platform. If you have videoconferencing services at your office, we will work with your IT department to ensure connectivity is not a problem.

Our systems also allow for connecting other parties and witnesses with their own devices. This includes desktop PCs, laptops, tablets or smartphones. We can work with operating systems that include Windows, macOS, Linux, Chromebooks and Android.

We will also waive any fees related to bridging services to connect older proprietary systems.

Services At Your Offices

Our court reporters will attend at your offices as normal. We have ensured all our court reporters will have a personal had sanitizer with them and they will avoid handshaking with anyone during this time.

For swearing-in a witness, instead of using the Bible we will affirm the witness to avoid contact and handling.

Services At Independent Reporters

If you are attending the offices of Independent Reporters, please note the following things that are in place.

  1. Our building cleaners are taking extra measures to increase cleaning and sanitizing.
  2. IR will have hand sanitizer at the front desk upon entry to our office space.
  3. Each boardroom will have hand sanitizer in place for access by all attendees.
  4. Boardroom tables and chairs will be wiped down with disinfectant before attendance. After attendees have left another full wipe of surfaces and chairs will be disinfected.
  5. All door handles will be wiped various times throughout the day.

By adding these measures we are taking every precaution to reduce the chance of infection.
